Can someone who is not a virgin marry in the Church?

I was raised Catholic from childhood and lost my faith in my teens. As a teen I lost my virginity when pressured by my then-partner. I don’t hold this against him, but ever since I’ve felt as though I’ve committed a great sin. Since recently returning to the faith, the fact that I am no longer a virgin feels terribly impure and I sincerely regret it. My partner at present recently hinted that he intends to propose to me. Legally I am allowed to marry, but in regards to marriage within a Church, would our union still be considered good and pure by God?

Yes, of course. I very much recommend that, if you have not already done so, that you go to confession. Not only can you confess your sins and be reconciled to the Church, but you can ask the priest for advice on whether or not it is a good idea to marry this man. Only you can decide, with the (name removed by moderator)ut of a confessor or spiritual director, if marriage right now is the right choice; but, rather than jumping into marriage, it may be better to concentrate on regaining your faith and healing spiritually from your past.
