Can spirits follow you home from a cemetary? Help?!

Ok so I visited the oldest cemetary in my city (which happens to be very catholic) today alone because it is All Souls’ Day and I felt bad because no one ever comes to visit these poor souls and I wanted to help them Incase they were still in purgatory, so I walked around and prayed a small chaplet and I said the eternal rest prayer for them, and I left a rosary Bracelet on one of the Tombs. and then I got in my car and drove home. So I went out with some friends tonight for some pizza etc, and my mom texts me that she’s going crazy! And I ask her why she thinks she’s going crazy and she says that she saw a little girl walk into my room. And that my mother got really scared, and now I’m home and I’m not sure how I feel? I’m scared but I’m not that scared, what should I pray or do? Should I bless my room with holy water? It’s odd because at this cemetary there’s a little girl who died in the 1800s and her name is daisy and I thought of her while praying today. What should I do? Thank you and God bless!
 
I would strongly recommend that you pray your Rosary for her eternal rest could be possible that she is in purgatory and needs you to pray for her release and you should also offer a Mass for her as well.

Could I pray the rosary tomorrow?? It is 1 am here and I’m afraid i won’t be able to say it devoutly or correctly since it is very late.

Of course !!!..if you feel too tired to pray long prayers then pray short prayers then at least you have prayed something for her…😃
 
“Spirits” cannot follow you, because they do not move. Only bodies can move.

But prayer never goes amiss.

Once we give power to the devil, even if it is only in our minds, we open the door for him to routinely influence our lives.
Stay away from such superstition and be faithful in prayer.

In short, my belief would be a resounding “yes” as the answer to this question. We have many Catholic mystics that speak of the souls of Purgatory.

Maria Simma, a controversial Catholic mystic, describes visits from the souls in Purgatory in her interviews. The Vilna Gaon, a world-renowned Jewish Sage, in his biography, describes being visited by Jewish souls from what can only be described as the Catholic version of Purgatory.

The local Latin Mass holds their morning summer Masses occasionally in the attached Catholic cemetery in a shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary. After praying there and attending Mass in the cemetery, my wife and I have both experienced what can only be described as unusual occurrences - really unexplained.

The souls in Purgatory need us to pray for them.

Prayer, fasting, Masses. More prayer. Pray for the souls in Purgatory.

I agree 100 %. And for you and your family’s sake it wouldn’t hurt to have some holy water at home and a blessed crucifix if you don’t already have one on your wall where you pray in your home. Alos consider praying the Divine Office each day, morning prayers, evening prayer and night prayers, especially the night prayers (compline).

ive heard of this happening some spirits i think get earthbound and are doomed to roam till judgement day, this little girl might not realize shes dead, id pray for her, and maybe have a mass said for her

Interesting thread . Just wondering if you have any real evidence for “earthbound” spirits, other than legends, traditions, folk religion, and Hollywood?

On these things I prefer to trust scripture, but, just curious if anyone knows.

Those spirits who are forever roaming the earth are only evil spirits/fallen angels. They are even sometimes masquerading themselves as the souls of the departed ones, so don’t be deceive.

The RCC teaches us that the souls of the dead are either in heaven, purgatory, or in hell.

Well, I get the idea of this. The only problem is we have no way to know if these theories are true. If she didn’t know she was dead, then why would she make herself visible to the OP seemingly asking for prayer? Going by this theory, how do you know that YOU’RE not dead and just some roaming spirit unaware of your state? I’m not trying to be combative, I’ve just seen that alot of this paranormal talk sometimes only serves to scare and confuse people. My thought is that when we do die, we will most CERTAINLY know that we have passed to the spiritual realm.

Well, exactly!! The whole lost spirit thing, unaware that they died, etc. just doesn’t make sense. No offense to the person that posted that idea. I just feel some of those paranormal ideas aren’t biblical and aren’t helpful.
 
Maybe the child realized that you had visited the cemetery and prayed for the poor souls. It could be that she felt a connection with you and received permission from God to go to your house. The fact that your mother saw her is a sign you did not expect it to happen. Your mother did not expect it either, so you might pray extra hard for her.
 
Interesting thread so far. In case it was a soul from purgatory I said prayer of Saint Gertrude for her soul
 
I agree with the posters who are mentioning praying for the souls in Purgatory. Even if Daisy is in Heaven, someone there will benefit from your prayers. I try to make a habit of praying for the souls of my relatives and a few others I knew who have died as a group every night, and then generally on the first Saturday of the month, I’ll pray for each individually.

I generally say the Eternal Rest prayer, the Memorare, and the Hail Holy Queen for the intentions of those specific souls and any others who may benefit from them.

Eternal rest grant to them O Lord
And let perpetual light shine upon them
May the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God,
Rest in peace

Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary
That never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
Implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided

Each of these prayers has a partial indulgence attached according to the Enchiridion, and they don’t take a particularly long time to pray, particularly the first one.
