Can the baptismal certificate corrected for having wrong name?

My boyfriend and I is planning to have a church wedding. However, his name appearing on the baptismal certificate is not the same with his birth certificate (he has a late registration birth certificate). Can the baptismal certificate be changed to have a name which is the same with his birth certificate? If not, please advise on what our next steps should be?

While information in the baptismal register is rarely “changed”, notations can be made. If he brings in a copy of his birth certificate and a current copy of his ID the parish will most likely add a notation of his legal name to the baptismal record.
