Can the behavior of a confirmand inhibit my ability to sponsor him?

May I be a confirmation sponsor for an RCIA candidate who is currently in a sexual relationship with a married woman?
 
Those to be received into the Church should be living a life in keeping with the doctrine and morals of the Church. If you have certain knowledge (not suspicions, not hearsay) that your confirmation candidate is engaged in an adulterous relationship, that would be just reason to withdraw your sponsorship of this person.
