Continuing from another post, prefer the Latin mass because i feel it encourages a spirit of devotion and reverence that i just never felt in the novus ordo and i’m sure many on here agree though each to their own. I feel such an order is important today to combat the growth of moral relativism and to immerse people in the holy spirit through active devotion. My question to other posters is what form of mass do you prefer and why? Also how much influence do you think the Mass has on spiritually immersing people into a life with Christ in today’s culture? Essentially do you think it has the power to evangelize?

I also ask this because i remember listening to Bishop Barron discussing how we can evangelize through Beauty and how the beautiful churches, music, art etc has a profound affect on the individual (just look at the secularists in mourning over Notre Dame) i was wondering do people here feel the mass has the same affect and why? How can it pull others towards a relationship with Christ

You should probably close this thread since you already have another one going. You aren’t supposed to have two threads on the same topic.

To the person flagging my post, tell me how it offended you? lol. What has happened to this site, it never used to be like this. I also noticed recently there is less Atheists engaging in this forum which is a shame as i found it was great for discussion and strengthening one’s faith

I wasn’t I who flagged your post, but I have to say your repeated references to ‘mass’ rather than ‘Mass’ strike me as most irreverent, ironically.

ok fair enough lol. I apologize for bad punctuation, i type too fast and too often forget to check over it

Are you serious? You flagged me over punctuation??? Is that allowed 🤣🤣🤣. Who are the moderators??? lol
Quite serious. It is not punctuation, but a matter of correct form, and showing respect.

Next time rather than flag me that person or persons 😉 should personally let me know their quarrel. If we cannot be charitable to each other then what example do we set. Anyway back to the topic

Does the Mass have the power to evangelize? I would say so as someone who converted after years of attending Mass with my husband.

Does the language the Mass is said in change whether it can evangelize? No. It may impact different people differently. But there are some who are more likely to be touched by the OF and some more likely to be touched by the EF.

People are getting a bit flag-happy…in my opinion throwing a flag should be reserved for egregious stuff, not minor annoyances or disagreements.

I don’t know that I can p(name removed by moderator)oint one specific thing. I know that I found myself attending on days that weren’t holy days of obligation even when my husband couldn’t attend because I felt drawn to the Mass. I could see the impact that it had on the people of the church and in turn the impact that they had on the world around them. And that made me want to understand the faith better, which led me to believe.
