Can the pastor ask a parishioner to leave the parish?

Can the pastor of ask a parishioner to leave the parish? We have a cultural group at our church with kids and youth as members and the pastor told us we must be under another group, which is totally different from our mission; and if we don’t, we better leave and find another church. Please advise on what is the proper way to respond to the pastor.

Please advise on what is the proper way to respond to the pastor.

By seeking to understand what he is trying to say and then doing as he asks. He is not asking individual parishioners to leave the parish. He is disallowing a particular group to hold its activities on parish property. Parishioners who are members of the group would still be able to attend the parish; they just cannot have their group meetings and activities at the parish (at least as a distinct group; as I understand it, they could continue to meet at the parish if they join the other group).
