Okay. It seems suspicious to me though. I always thought that only a bishop could Confirm
Normally, its the bishops’ job; they are the ones with the authority to do so. But they can pass that authority on. At the average parish’s easter vigil, the priest baptizes and then confirms the new converts.

I’m a pretty good apologist, but I guess this one slipped by me somehow. Its a good thing I didn’t make a scene at Mass! LOL

One time I chewed a priest out for telling everybody that its not really necessary to go to confession before receiving the Eucharist EVEN IF you ARE aware of mortal sin. Oooowee, that was a day to remember.

I’m glad I kept my trap shut today though.

“way to receive is kneeling on the tongue.”
sounds a little painfull to me.
whats so painful about it? do you not know who you are about to recieve?! Jesus Christ himself!! Should we not show him the most upmost reverance and respect!?! Catholics have been doing receiving the Eucharist on there knees and tongues for over 1900 years. Why do we have to change and do the work of ! Obviously many Catholics do not even think for one minute that they are about to receive Jesus! As for my opinion, i am glad this priest is standing up to the public and only allowing them to receive the reverant way(a little bow to honor God before he gives us the gift to receive Him IS MERE REVERANCE! do we not kneel or genuflect to a king or queen on earth?! why then do we only bow to the king of kings!?“a little paniful”?!!?, more like lazy and disrespectful)

The problem with humor is that there are always people who don’t get it. I’m pretty sure that when he said it would be painful to “receive kneeling on the tongue,” he was making fun of the OP’s lack of punctuation. If someone were literally kneeling on their own tongue, it would be painful. (I’m not sure if this is physically possible, maybe for a yoga master or something.) This is what the OP says.

What he meant to say was “receive kneeling, on the tongue.”
