Thanks, I thought so. Has the Holy Father celebrated an Eastern Rite Liturgy since his pontificate?
I thought I saw Benedict XVI concelebrating an Eastern Catholic liturgy in Israel last year. 🤷

Hieromartyr Theodore of Mukachevo himself ordained candidates for the Latin Church.
I have two questions. first is not Theodore a bishop -so if he is in your church a saint, wouldn’t he be called svyatitel and martyr and not hieromartyr.

But beyond this I am unclear why it is important that bishop of one church can ordain a priest or celebrate divine liturgy according to another church. Does this not seem an offensive kind of way to trivialize the Divine Liturgy of church he does not serve as bishop.

This to me seems very odd. Why would bishop want to do this?

HH John Paul the Second did, as I stated in post # 4 above. I was present at the Vatican for the Ukrainian Catholic Divine Liturgy concelebrated with our bishops in 1988 at the Vatican. I was young but it was a moving experience.
This may sound shallow, but was the Pope using Ukrainian vestments too?

I’ve seen the Melkite priest near me concelebrate the ordinary form of the mass in the Latin rite several times. He’s vested in his Melkite vestments and is the odd man out among the Latin rite priests.

I’ve been to the divine Liturgy where Latin rite transitional deacons have assisted the priest. They wore Latin rite vestments.

I wouldn’t make too much of it.

That is the correct procedure.

By delegation from the Maronite bishop, our pastor confirmed and gave first Communion to two Maronite women at one Easter Vigil. They had somehow missed this at their Baptism and the local Maronite church did not have a program to prepare them for these sacraments. However, it was required that the one getting married be married in the Maronite church. Our pastor was invited to concelebrate. Upon investigation we found that when concelebrating a priest is required to wear the vestments of his rite. So he wore Latin vestments for the Maronite liturgy.
