Corruption and wickedness know no bounds, so I wouldn’t be surprised that some bishops can be bought too. Nihil novi sub sole.

Romans3:23

“…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Unfortunately “selling out the gospel” has been part of the Church since Holy Thursday…

I have seen no change in Catholic doctrine regarding abortion being a non-negotiable issue and far surpassing any social justice issues in weight. Unless someone can point to any doctrine of which I am unaware, I will chalk this one up to lifesite news spin toward attacking the Church in any way possible. Catholics who vote for the baby killing platform have done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future no doubt. All we can do is pray for the salvation of their souls. I have no doubt that Soros has an agenda to destroy Catholic Church as much as he can nor doubt that he thinks money trumps all things.
That is his mindset and he has proven over time that he is able to conquer many people with cash. He will not bring down Christ’s church

Several people have tried bring down the Catholic Church. Stalin even questioned how many divisions the Pope had. Well, where is Stalin now?

Have faith. I believe the Church has the Bridegroom by her side.

I am not clear that “spin” is the best way to characterize it. It appears to be true and did have some effect.

Perhaps this is LifeSiteNews issuing a warning about wolves in the midst of the sheep. You aren’t claiming it should just be dismissed as “spin” are you?

Wouldn’t it be more prudent to take it seriously and monitor the possible effects in order to properly counter and deal with them instead of dismissing the whole thing as “spin?”

If a neighbor were to phone you about a prowler in your back yard and you hear noises coming from there, should you dismiss the report as false even if the neighbor happens to be a crank?

I have read LifeSiteNews for several years and I haven’t witnessed any “attacking” of the Church happening at the site.

Are they claiming reporting 🙂 ] that they were successful in beginning to create a critical mass of bishops who are aligned with the Pope? Sometimes the more people spin the deeper in the muck they sink.

From the link:
"
The funds were allocated in April 2015 and the report on their effectiveness suggests that successful achievements included, “Buy-in of individual bishops to more publicly voice support of economic and racial justice messages in order to begin to create a critical mass of bishops who are aligned with the Pope.”

As far as I know, ALL clergy are aligned with the Pope in matters of faith and morals. That has not changed. Crackpots in the church?? Sure! Look at one such ; Martin Luther. Did he bring down the church? Absolutely not! We support church teachings by and large. There are dissenters, heretics, etc. Always have been. Someone who has evil intent gives money to a good cause. Does that make the good cause evil??

So your point is that “someone” (assume George Soros) who “has evil intent” and “gives money to a good cause” CANNOT, by doing so, ever harm a “good cause” and influence it towards being less good and more evil?

Seems a tad naive from my perspective.

No, not “ALL clergy” are “aligned with the Pope in matters of faith and morals.” You cited an example yourself – Martin Luther – and there have been others who have done indeterminable harm to the Church. Think, for example, of the pedophile priests who, though relatively small in number, have wrecked great harm on the Church.

“Bringing down the Church” is not the only standard by which harm to the Church and its members is to be measured.
