Can this dream be true?

I don’t know who to ask. My friend lost her father last week or so. he was bad, i don’t know all details but i understand something about drunker or abusive to her mother, she didn’t love him very much. My friend is also an atheist. Now she says she dreamed the father crying and asking her to pray for him because he has only 40 days to save his soul.

Can this really happen and the dream be true?

She told me it’s not fair, that if he did craps why should she fight for his soul?

i told her to pray.

Would it help if i pray for him?

Yes, it would help if you pray for him. Regardless of whether the dream is “true” or not, we always pray for deceased souls, and the man sounds like perhaps his soul does need prayers. I will also pray for him.

His daughter may be too upset to pray for him right now, so we do this for her. If she feels like she can forgive her father and pray for him later on, then she should do that. She probably needs to work on forgiving him first.

Eternal rest grant unto cristyd’s friend’s father, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

And may Christ the Consoler make cristyd’s friend able to forgive her father for any bad acts he might have committed while on earth. Please heal and console the man’s family and loved ones.
