Can we be buried in a non-Catholic cemetery?

My husband is looking into buying funeral plots. His parents have plots in a Lutheran cemetery and he would like to buy plots close to his parents’ plots. What does the Church teach about where we are to be buried?

The Church does not object to Catholics being buried in non-Catholic cemeteries, especially when it is done for reasons such as yours of wanting to be near family. When pre-planning your funerals, you can arrange for a priest to bless the plot at the time of the burial by leaving instructions of your wishes to whoever will be responsible for arranging your funerals.
