The question of man-made global warming or climate change as they now like to call it is still an open, arguable, issue among the scientific community. The Pope has come down hard on the side which accepts that it is man-made. Many intelligent people, including me, have scientifically supportable reason to believe that this “global warming/climate change” issue is more political than scientific. It has much “Progressivist” baggage, such as Pro-Choice, Divorce, Extramarital Sex, and other beliefs that are anathema to what The Church has always taught, attached to it.
I fully accept the teachings of The Church as put forth in clearly defined propositions, for example, The Immaculate Conception" and “The Assumption.” But I want to know if, as a practicing Catholic, I am bound to believe and act according to propositions and opinions put forth in Papal Encyclicals such as “Laudatio Si?”
