Can weekend Masses be suspended?

Our current diocesan H1N1 Flu Directives include the possibility of suspending all weekend Masses in the event of a local epidemic or even the threat of one (it hasn’t happened to date). Would it be an act of apostasy by the local ordinary to suspend all weekend Masses throughout a diocese?
 
No, presuming that the possibility of such a suspension is in place as a means of protecting people from catching the flu and is not intended as a repudiation of the Christian faith (which is the definition of apostasy). Since such a suspension has not occurred in your diocese, it appears to me that you should trust that your bishop would not take such a step lightly and without due consideration of alternative methods of handling the matter.
