Can You Change Your Confirmation Name?

After many years, I have found that I have nothing in common with my Confirmation Saint, Saint Vincent de Paul and have been wondering is there a way I can change my saint to someone else, like Maximillan Kolbe or St. Paul two people I have come to admire.

You are not limited to your baptismal and confirmation patrons. You can pick up extras as you go through life, as many as you find help you to advance spiritually. Hang on to poor St. Vincent, and just add more of the Church Triumphant to help him out with your case. He said a lot of very wise and zealous things!

Your confirmation name is typically recorded in the sacramental register. In that sense, no you cannot change it. But, from a practical standpoint, you can pray to whomever you would like.
