Can you hate an inanimate object?

Is it sinful to wish an inanimate object -be it a video game character, a plant that won’t grow, etc.- evil? Is it even possible to hate an object?
 
In the true sense of the word no.The same way you can’t really love an inanimate object.The Hebrews worshipped the golden calf but I still don’t think you could classify that as love.
