Can you help me about Centering prayer?

Greetings; I am very much interested in learning the Church’s view of centering prayer, and Father Keating’s standing with regard to that subject. If I am not mistaken, there is some controversy/confusion regarding this topic, and I would be most grateful for guidance regarding it. Thank you - Steve Cirillo, NJ
