My sister is dating a married man. From the time they met and began this realtionship (one year ago) he has been “in the process of getting divorced”. He and my sister are now living together. My parents are sick about this and make it clear that he is not welcome. Their relationship with my sister is fractured to say the least.
I do not support her actions but rather than ostricize her I have tried to remind her of our faith as a means for her to see why this is wrong and why our parents are not in agreeement with her decisions.

Is there a concise answer on the best way for us to react to her? I can’t imagine cutting her off from the family is the right thing. I also don’t think we need to accept him in as if there were no issues.

Is there specific scripture I can point her to?

Hi,

How about; (Lk 6:31) “Do unto others as you would have them do to you”?

Ask her how she would feel if her husband were living with another woman? Further, if he is unfaithful to his wife with whom he has made a covenant before God, what guarantee has she that he will be faithful to her with whom he is simply shacking up?
