Will god still answer the petitions you prayed for if you keep commiting mortal sin?

There is no more important time in raising prayers to God then when we are in a state of sinfulness!

God will hear your prayers.

Whether you receive what you’re asking for depends on a) what it is, b) whether God thinks it’s good for you, and c) God’s will otherwise.

You should keep taking steps to get out of sin each time you fall into it, and also pray to God to give you the strength and grace to stop sinning repeatedly.

Yes, continue to pray.

Also, and you’d want to discuss the details of this with a competent authority such as your confessor, but there is a difference between an habitual sin you don’t want to stop (“I’m going to continue to live with and have sex with my lover and I don’t care what Jesus says”) and an habitual sin you’re sincerely trying to work through and eradicate, such as a person with a porn addiction who is taking active steps to healing, but falls from time to time in the process.

Thank you all for giving me such wonderful answers. You will be truly blessed.
I just got another question. Is it okay if you pray for the same petitions twice a day?

Yes, you can pray for the same petitions twice a day or however many times you want.

However, it’s not necessary as God heard you the first time 🙂
It’s an option that you can choose as long as you’re not doing it because you’re afraid God isn’t paying attention to the first prayer.

I know that God considers our prayer for the first time, but I want to pray the petition the second time so it can clear any doubts I have of God answering the petition, because sometimes when I pray the first time, there are doubts creeping in my head about God answering my petition so when I pray the second time, I feel those doubts will lessen, because I think that the more I pray these petitions daily, the more I feel that God will answer them. And I like communicating to God about my petitions. It’s fun and it makes me feel good. So based on all I just said, can I still pray for my petitions twice a day?

I just wanted to make sure that it’s posted directly to you.

Since you like to pray and talk to God, then it’s probably fine for you to pray twice a day.

However, you should strive to banish your doubt about God not “answering” if you only pray once. That’s not a good way to think. God hears you just fine if you pray once. If you then choose to pray additional times because you simply want to talk to God more, that’s fine, but you shouldn’t be praying additional times because you doubt God would answer if you just prayed once.

Ok. Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut. I really appreciate it, and God Bless.
