hi to all catholics in canada, quick question, have any same sex couples challenged the church for a wedding in a catholic church? if not, do you see it happening any time now or in the near future?

Quite a few Catholic organizations are being scrutinized for or have actually been taken to court for hate crimes. Lee Kunik has been issued a notice to evict in response to his posting a sign saying “1 man + 1 woman = marriage.” There are several thread in the Culture of Death Forum on this topic. Scroll down to News in the Catholic Answers Forum list and click Culture of Death.
 
I kind of like Ralph Kleins approach. Seems he said something to the effect that Alberta would stop sanctioning marriages and only do civil unions. That way the province wouldnt be performing gay marriges. Would be up the individual churches.
