What is the intent of lighting a candle at Church?

I assume you mean the Votive Candles which are lit with a promise to pray for someone or something. The candle signifies a constant petition of or for that intention. The candles remind all who come into the Church to pray for intentions.

For me, lighting a candle is a symbol of my prayers for a specific intention, and the prayers of all who come into the Church.
