The more I read these posts about marijuana, the less temptation I feel to EVER use it. I don’t care if it becomes legal someday…I don’t see myself ever wanting to use it for even medicinal purposes. To me, it is just another ladder the devil can use to storm the fortress of my soul- why would I ever give him a way to access it?

Seriously? O.k., let me break it down for you. The average IQ of a person who holds a PhD is 130. This is the top 2-3% of the population. To be a professor at college, you must hold a PhD, ergo, college professors generally have an IQ in the 130 range. I have taught at college and I can tell you without a doubt that the vast majority of teachers I came into contact with used marijuana on a fairly regular basis.
I’m sorry to say, but IQ doesn’t say much about one’s potential academic achievement, so the premise is flawed from the get-go. A much more precise way to “measure” intellect would be what is known as the “multiple intelligences theory”, which asserts that some people are more geared in some areas than others. Savants, who generally tend to be brilliant mathematicians, actually score low on IQ tests. I see IQ tests attempting to measure intelligence in the same way I see our leader trying to measure the nation’s happiness

Thank you,
