Canon 73 of Council in Trullo (AD 692) —also known as Quinisext Council— prohibits having cross-shaped figures on the floor, while many old churches are traditionally built in the shape of a cross (and hence the floor is cross-shaped). Is this a contradiction? What about churches with cross-shaped tiles on the floor?

I could be wrong but I don’t think this Council is recognised by the Catholic Church as an Ecumenical one.
Anyway, how a Church building is constructed, including the shape is not a matter of doctrine so it would be redundant.

Are you Eastern Orthodox? The local eastern church Council of Trullo was not accepted by Pope Sergius I, who even introduced the Agnus Dei prayer into the Mass and repaired the facade mosaic of the Lamb of God in St. Peters’s Cathedral, in response to the prohibition by the Council of Trullo, Canon LXXXII, of showing the Lamb of God.
