What exactly are you objecting to? When someone asks what the Church requires, for example, isn’t it appropriate to cite an official document, so that the person is assured that he is not just getting someone’s opinion?

I think it’s the commentary before and after the citation that seemed to not exactly cite the Canon according to what the Canon stated.

I read that as a footnote to his main point, that citing canon law is tiresome or annoying or some such thing, but I’d like to know why, and how he (or anyone who agrees with MorEphrem) thinks one ought to discuss such matters.
