I am praying for the end of abortion euththinasia and capital punishment, but the world is to full of vengence, as was the case last night as Rodney Lee Gardner was exicuted by firing squad last night here in Utah. Please pray for his soul and for all who were hurt by his actions.
 
:gopray: Ironically the woman whose boyfriend was the victim of Rodney Lee Gardner’s crime did not want to see him killed. I saw her on CNN last night and she is opposed to the death penalty.

The Church herself states in CCC 2267 that given other means at the State’s disposal to effectively repress crime by rendering inoffensive the one who has committed it, reasons for having to kill the criminal are rare if not practically non-existent.

Ronny Lee Gardner had been rendered inoffensive for the past 25 yrs by another means. Christ did not say thou shalt not kill only the unborn fetus. In fact He said you have heard an eye for eye BUT.

But last night what took place was the killing of an obvious human being. Yes one who committed a most henious crime. But nevertheless obviously having been born, a human being. :signofcross:
