… I never stated a “position”, as you call it, so it doesn’t make sense to say people who support it struggle to gain credibility.
Exactly the point you don’t bother to add to the discussion simply attack those who disagree with Abu. If you don’t have a position, why attack me for asking a very simple question.
I think you are very mixed up. I didn’t make any personal attack on you. …
Your previous post:
You should really stop using the red text. It makes you look frustrated.

Now, let me take a guess - you don’t know exactly what free enterprise is and you’re too scared to have a crack at providing a definition yourself. To maintain ‘face’ you just slag off at anyone who doesn’t write what you want to hear. That’s not very brave, is it? “Rest my case” you say. What case?
Not seeing a “please” anywhere … so don’t go off on a tangent here proclaiming your own polite questioning of me … there is no polite question here, no please, a sad attempt to use sarcasm and insults to detract from the question.
If you are British, as you claim, then you’d know that the phrase “slag off at …” simply means to berate someone. Your feigned outrage makes me wonder about your credentials. Telling you that slagging off at Abu is not insulting you; it is pointing out that your denigration of his argument does not help your own.
Your comment about the word s$%g are so far wrong you are well aware of this but allow me to provide you with the definition. Most well adjusted adults wouldn’t dream of using this phrase. Its use is reminiscent of a mouthy teenagers not supposedly polite adults, as they understand exactly what it means and how derogatory it is…
Merriam-Webster:
Definition of SLAG
slang chiefly British
: a lewd or promiscuous woman
Urban dictionary:
1 slag
  1. An individual who cares not for relationships beyond the realm of the sexual, these people sleep with many partners not caring about anything save for the moment of climax.
  1. Rubbish that is not worth the time or effort of paying attention to it, but none the less draws one in. Used to describe unpleasent situations.
  1. Physical trash, often scrap metals.
  1. Drawn from frag, to slag something is to destroy it, used in cases of technological rather then biological items.
So your wife’s been a nasty slag all along? I knew she was trouble from the moment I first laid her.
Lost your job huh? Damn man, that’s some cold hard slag.
Don’t forget to get the slag off the yard, the city is threatening to fine us!
  1. Code:
    slag
Usually used in reference to a lady who has a revolving door to her bedroom. Though less common, ‘slag’ may also be applied to males who spread their seed too thinly and on bad soil.
“She slept with, John, Rick, Tom and Peter, and that was before breakfast. She’s such a slag.”
And this is your response to being asked to get off Abu’s back and to provide a definition yourself. Sad, really…
Your absolutely right your defense of Abu is sad. I have only asked for a definition of “free enterprise” that they are advocating … if you view that as being on his back i think you need to reassess what you mean by this phrase. Asking a very simple question is not harassing, nor is berating, nor is it attacking …it is simply asking.

Absolutely if relevant, standard forum etiquette is to stay on the topic otherwise you are simply a troll -using the forum to be purposely argumentative and disruptive. Would you not class personally attacking a poster for asking a question an example of being a troll? You haven’t done anything more than attempt to distract from the point by being disruptive and counter productive.
So what’s stopping you from making it clear? Oh yeah, I already figured that out, didn’t I.
I have already highlighted numerous posts where Abu has been questioned on the reality of “free enterprise” and how everyone else seems to have a different understanding of it…:doh2: … hence the question!

Abu has simply been asked to define “free enterprise” and its practical real world implementation … nothing more nothing less… your aggressive defense against this does nothing more than suggest they aren’t that comfortable with doing this and readers have to ask why not!!!

I do not understand to what this term refers to. In its basic meaning its a true statement, like heavy lead, wet rain and so on. By saying “lead”, “rain” and “government” the adjective is superflous.

Edit:
It somehow implies, there might in some remote corner of the universe exist the oppsite. But “efficient government” sounds as strande as light lead or dry rain.
Excellent:thumbsup:

Folks might want to consider restructuring Social Security along the lines of the alternate plan, which is the plan that has been in use in parts of Texas for 30+ years. The Galveston County Plan. It works.

Similarly, Medicare can be restructured along the lines of the Indiana Plan, which Mitch Daniels, the governor, installed a few years ago, and which people seem to like. It is based on the HSA type of program.

And someone suggested that the Federal government issue bonds to Social Security to represent the money that was “borrowed”. Actual bonds.
Here is further information on the Galveston County Plan which is a financially viable “version” of Social Security.
