Capuchins advertising Masses for the deceased on Facebook

Good ol’ Fr. Pfannenstiel and the Seraphic Mass Association pop up in pretty much every Internet search or activity regarding having a Mass said for your loved ones. I admire their perseverance in marketing and I have used them for a few Mass requests.

This week, their targeted ad (below) popped up in my Facebook feed. I make Mass requests online frequently, have “liked” some Catholic pages, and I sometimes post on Facebook about going to Mass or about loved ones dying, so I guess some cookie got triggered to send me this ad. I don’t mind the ad since it’s better than the ones about hair dye, gun control, Elizabeth Warren etc that I have gotten in the past but I had to chuckle a bit at the gothiness of the whole approach. It reminded me of GnR’s “November Rain” video, or maybe a reboot of “Night of the Living Dead”.

Axl and crew could probably use a few Masses. Thanks for making me think of that.
I’ve always been a fan of theirs since they opened for Aerosmith many decades ago.

I rewatched that old video just now and while the wedding looks more Episcopalian than RC, they sure have a lot of crucifixes reverently utilized in it.

I have had masses said through them and have even received personal responses to my prayer requests from Fr. P. 🙂

I am happy to support them and will continue to use them when I need masses said.

Yeah, I’ve already used them 3 or 4 times for Gregorian masses and FOSS. I like to spread my Mass requests around so I don’t use them every time.
