this is the problem. the freedom to do as they please. there is no determination to what to do. there is no uniformity among Catholics like before.

it is either up to the bishop or the people. that is why the confusion. what ever one does it is ok.

waiting for the Vatican to make a decision.

Here is a pic of Cardinal Arize when he was at our parish. He was the keynote speaker at our last Lenten Retreat.

Note the recepient kneeling at the pre-dieu (which we use in lieu of Communion rails)

The Church moves very slowly even when trying to get back into the track. I think that we cannot just expect to wait for directives from the Vatican. We have to accept that things might not happen in our lifetime. However, that does not exempt us from educating the future generations of bishops, priests and faithfuls to chose what is best. One very important skill that was taught during the centuries by the Church was the skill of persuasion. I think that that skill has been lost in today’s culture and it is a huge loss because now we can have so much antagonism within the Church structure when it comes to try to change something for the good of the whole Church.

you are right. we just had an Eucharist congress in my home town. what they tought the people was to stand before and after the Eucharist. trying to do away with the kneelers.

how is the Church ever going to come out of this confusion? who knows. as long is the progressists are allowed to teach Catholics, it is going to be difficult to change what it is now.
