You’ve got that right, my friend!
Unfortunately there are many who will continue to turn a deaf ear to this.

Which reminds me…The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is holding a liturgy seminar in a few weeks…maybe Cardinal Arinze could drop in. If any bunch is in desperate need of a kick in the liturgical pants, they are.
Do you think that Cardinal Mahoney out in Los Angeles is looking forward to a vist from Cardinal Arinze??photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1659/2191/400/Arinze_IMG_1635b.jpg
Cardinal Arinze was in Detroit this morning, discussing the liturgy. Was anyone from Catholic.com there? If so, how about throwing in some good discussion points. Out of a sell-out crowd of 750, I figure there must have been people from Catholic.com at this event.
I was glad to hear him talk about the need for gestures in our worship, in particular kneeling and bowing. He also discussed sitting, processing, standing, but focused heavily on kneeling and genuflection.
The GIRM calls for all of these things and he really hit the point home by reminding us that it is our Creator that we stand before. We ought to be willing to crawl to Him, or to prostrate ourselves before Him. We should not be afraid to kneel or genuflect before the tabernacle, when we see the light.
I’m sure a few in the audience were probably wanting to say…
“But, your Eminence, the tabernacle at my Church is in a side room!”
It gives new meaning to “Where have they put my Lord”
I will have a series of posts going up on my blog - perhaps only 2 or 3, depending on how other pictures came out.
Here is a direct link to the first one, with an additional pic. Use the home page in my sig to check for more.

Working on it. I have requested that Holy Trinity Apostolate add the text of the scripted part to their website. But, you won’t get any of those quips from the Cardinal on that. However, his main talking points are there. If they don’t list it, I’ll likely be typing it out myself and putting it on my blog - a labor intensive thing at about 7-8 fully type-written pages.Pax vobiscum!
Is there anywhere online that I could listen to this talk or read a transcript of it?
In Christ,
Rand
I will see Barbara on Monday evening. I’ll ask her about the plans to sell the CD’s and DVD’s on the website (even if it’s just posting a pdf of the form for people to mail in). Not sure if there was any plan for a transcript… I’ll follow up in this thread when I know.If anyone knows Barbara personally, you may want to talk to her and see if she is willing to put this material on her web. I don’t know how crowded her inbox is, but haven’t had much luck getting a response.
Hi Timmay - not a transcript, but the actual written speech that was handed out (or sitting on the table in the back that I picked up on the way out).I will see Barbara on Monday evening. Cardinal Arinze arrived on Friday and was the guest of Cardinal Maida at the Cathedral Rectory for the duration of his stay in Detroit.IDid he spend some extra time with His Eminence Cardinal Maida in the newly “renovated” Cathedral or did they keep him away from there intentionally?![]()
