oat soda:
from what i have read on this thread, cardinal arinze is sounding like a politician. he’s trying not to offend anyone, weather they be traditional or progressive in terms of the liturgy. he shouldn’t be a politician but a leader. ratzinger has vision and a direction where he see’s where the liturgy should be going. arinze has none. he’s dissapointing. unless ratzinger is elected pope, i don’t see things improving in the church.
He sounded nothing like a politician. He was very forthright and unyielding, even when asked leading questions. Being pastoral is not being wishy-washy. He never contradicted church teaching, neither did not try to go beyond it. You may not agree with him, but he has authority over the liturgy and deserves respect.

I will trust in whoever God allows to be our next leader and am confident that we will continue to move forward in faith. If Cardinal Ratzinger is that choice, I would be delighted. In any case, I will be obedient and supportive.

Wrong, oat. Now break down, call EWTN and spend $25.00 for a tape of the program.

If nothing else it will teach you not to draw such personal criticisms of people on the basis of these posts.
