Yes to reverence regardless of how we receive. At our Church, I have not seen irreverence from communicants receiving via the tongue. They are a small percentage in my Parish.
I see the same thing in my parish. Some do receive on the tongue, but they do not kneel.

Are you saying that the Church was wrong since the 300’s to prohibit communion in the hand to the laity? And just now, suddenly, in the allowance of exclusion to the standing law of the universal Church, communion in the hand is established as equal?
Yes…

Nearly all younger ones kneel, older ones like myself stand, probably out of necessity, like myself.

It’s the opposite in our church. The young ones usually stand and receive in the hand. The older ones often receive on the tongue. I guess that’s not opposite! We just don’t have a place to kneel.

I recently began attending a WONDERFUL parish here in Houston - Our Lady of Walsingham. As a convert from the Episcopal church, it hits all the comforts of what church was like for me growing up, with the added bonus of Apostolic Succession. 🙂 We received at the altar rail, by intinction. And I can tell you that Mass isn’t much longer than at any ‘normal’ American Catholic Mass. The reverence is beautiful. I have yet to attend Mass there without weeping tears of joy!

For those here who might not be familiar with the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham in Houston, it’s the Cathedral of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, the ordinariate of former Anglican/Episcopalian communities throughout the United States who are now in communion with Rome and are officially now part of the Catholic Church.

One notable difference in how they celebrate Mass is that they don’t use the Roman Missal, instead they use the Book of Divine Worship (which was promulgated in 2015) which allows receiving Holy Communion by intinction.

Intinction is one of the many reasons I love attending Mass there. In my opinion, it solves a number of issues with receiving in the hand and by the cup. It lends itself to greater reverence, resolves the problem of ignorant people not consuming our Lord immediately, requires no Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers, and no unconsecrated hands touch the Blessed Sacrament. ❤️

I had a minor sore throat today when I went to Mass. Normally, I receive by tongue. Today, I received by hand. I didn’t want to risk infecting someone else and didn’t want to abstain from the Sacrament.

You could still infect someone. If you’re catching a cold or flu, you shed the virus. And you touch things. Best to stay home since many at mass are elderly with lowered resistance.
