I’m very into Jordan Peterson and I’m a psychology major and have read a good bit of Jung. I like his theory on the shadow (that we repress aspects of ourselves that we and society deem negative such as sexuality). I was wondering if there is any similar view in Christianity? Also is there a way to avoid sin whiteout repressing desires?

Regarding this, there is a distinction between disordered desires and ordered desires. A perfect man would desire only perfection, and the good. Disordered desires stem from our fallen state, and include lust and such. To avoid sin you need to repress disordered desires, but you shouldn’t repress every desire. You should train and encourage yourself to desire Godly things.
