Does anyone know if the Carmelites of Wyoming do Retreats? I am intrigued by them. Do they receive visitors? I’ll write to them if necessary but thought I’d ask on this Forum first.
According to their January 2010 newsletter, they are expecting 10-25 new vocations this year and are working hard to build accommodations for them. In fact, the plan is to put the new huts on skids so they can be dragged to the monastery’s final location. carmelitemonks.org/News/Letters/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=57
Remember, this is a pretty new monastery, and is still under construction. The fact that they are taking new vocations suggests that they are receiving guests. However, I wonder if, at this stage, maybe retreats are limited only to persons considering joining the monastery.
BTW, this isn’t related, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention their coffee, which they roast themselves. Good stuff. mysticmonkcoffee.com/
