Hi Guys,

I don’t understand your negative response about this article…

Are you objecting purely on the basis you don’t believe that the more famous species of dinosaurs developed from previous species of the animals (i.e. evolution) that existed before them?

Hi Andy,

Textbook evolution tells readers that an engine that runs on random mutations exists that is self-generating. Stephen Jay Gould wrote that if evolution could be rewound, things would turn out differently. From the Catholic perspective, if some process occurred it was guided by God infallibly. This critical piece of information should guide all Christians, instead the paradigm being presented here regularly is that the process has no intelligence and simply produces what it produces, denying to divine providence any truly causal role in the development of life in the universe.

Further, the recent discovery of lignin in red algae caused a billion year revision in the appearence of lignin but did not appear to affect the evolutionary model. Similarly, recent fossil finds pushed octopus evolution back millions of years with similar noneffect on the model.

It would appear to me that this find will not have an affect on the model. It simply notes a different geographic distribution of dinosaurs.

Peace,
Ed

It has a small impact on the model. Rather than a trident with a long handle and short times we have a trident with a short handle and long tines in one part of the large tree.
Code:
The older version was:

                      +---
                      |
  -----------M--------+---
                      |
                      +---

The newer version is:

      +---M---------------
      |
  ----+------M------------
      |
      +---------M---------
In the old version one species moved (M) from what is now South America to what is now North America and separated into different species there. In the new version the separation into different species happened before the move and the the different species then made their own separate ways to North America. It is a change in a small detail.

The sad thing is, that ultimately, whatever happened, happened, and the whole ‘real’ model could well be entirely different to all of this, but scientists make their models anyway, and ferociously demand respect to their pithy limited interpretations, until they change again when the next fossil that refuses to fit the previous model turns up. Or, depending upon the motives of the discoverer/interpreter, expect gasps of wonder at the latest grand discovery of the new truth!
