First, I’d like to say. I am a cert. catechist for cgs. My experience has been nothing but inspiring and profoundly deep with the kids. With that said, I was wondering if anyone here has had a not so great experience with this program.
Thanks,
Diane

if you bear in mind first this is a program directed primarily at preschool and kinder children, it is not first and foremost a sacramental prep program, and also that its underpinnings come from the classic Montessori tradition, it will help you put criticism you have seen, here and elsewhere, in perspective. Most of the criticism I have seen here is a) hearsay, not from those with actual experience and b) attacks it because it is deficient in teaching hard doctrine and preparing for sacraments. Since it is designed for neither of those purposes, critics should chill out, try it as adjunct to other preschool programs, and simply find out if the atrium contributes to better formation for your parish preschoolers.

So, I guess that means you don’t know the entire program. They do have a componet for Sacramental prep and it is according to the guidlines of the NDC as well as the CCC.
My question was for those who have actual experience with a child in the program. I’m sure you are very capable of deciding if you would be comfortable having a grandchild in this program, however, I really want to hear a first hand experience.
