Just for fun; it’s around 400 A.D. and internet forums are all the rage. Based on typical topics these days, what do you think the topics would be in here?

I’ll start; “should we go back to the Aramaic mass?”

(Well, since it’s his feast day today, here goes:)

Bishop Martin of Tours just died three years ago (397 A.D.), and people are calling him a saint! I thought only martyrs were venerated as saints (which was true prior to Martin). These modernist innovations are driving me crazy! 😠

Rome will fall! I know it’s coming! Long have I foreseen this Dooom 😱

Who is this man, Augustine, who was just installed (396 A.D.) as the Bishop of Hippo? I’ve heard about him. There is a lot of questionable stuff in his past. Can we trust him?

So the pater familias has gotten the order to head out to one of the garrisons in Britannia. Anybody out there with any tips on what to pack, what the styles are, how the servant situation is? We’re hoping this will be a long term assignment. . .

The borders of the Empire are becoming more and more fragile. These strange folks called Goths are pouring through. And I hear there are these demons called the Huns chasing them. If these Goths are terrible what about those Huns? Are we truly in the End Times?

Has anyone heard about the council Pope Anastasius just called? I hear they’re going to discuss the writings of Origen again. I always liked much of what Origen had to say, and it’s too bad he’s no longer around to defend himself. Also, has anyone seen Pope Anastasius lately? He doesn’t seem to be in the best of health. I’m worried he might not last another year, but of course I’m praying he has a very long papacy.
