The picture appears to have no connection to the text. In my opinion, it is poorly chosen. I suspect it is an attempt at humor. Where can I register a complaint?

It’s a catholic website. It’s not what they should be finding humorous. Imagine the reverse. If they had a photo of a woman dressed as the Pope or a Priest. Is Catholic Answers.
In my humble opinion.

I’m not going to read the text. Regardless of what the text says, the photo is inexcusable, and it’s incomprehensible that Catholic.com would put this up.

It’s a question really for us, Catholic Answers won’t give feedback on it.
Site feedback is for the mods of the forum for forum issues, not the website of Catholic Answers. I wonder if they have the same disclaimer on their website.

I can’t contact Catholic Answers , I am in Australia. They would get so much email daily, they would not repsond to it all

SiteFeedback allows us to alert them about issues. That doesn’t mean that they’ll answer you.

You need to search more thoroughly. The Contact Us at the bottom of YOUR article gives this email address:

webmaster@catholic.com

Then why bring up the issue at all?

I have tried that email address in the past, it doesn’t work, the mail fails delivery.

There is a reason to bring this up. Catholic Answers is a Catholic Apostolate. It has a very public face. A very public Catholic face.

This forum is its forum.

If we are offended by something Catholic Answers puts up, we should speak up.

I can see why some would say it’s not the best idea… 😐

I guess I am the only one not offended by it. If you read the article, it makes sense. There are things that people think evolve and change with time. This is his way of saying no, (through humor,) that some things don’t evolve. No to women priests, and no the men as nuns.

I do not understand people saying they wont read the article, but find it offensive. At least read what he says first.

I have read it, his opinion piece on how doctrine is made and how it develops. And the way it is written isn’t the best either, but hey it’s not an academic piece, it’s an opinion piece.

Well, I emailed the webmaster (who is also the director of publishing) at Catholic.com, informing him that the picture had sparked some debate here and that some of us found the picture offensive. He answered that I was the 2nd person to get in touch with him about this, and he has now had the picture replaced, even though in his opinion the picture, when considered in the context of the article, was not blasphemous/direspectful.
