Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) – A leading Catholic archbishop is calling a fraud President Barack Obama’s claims that he will lead efforts to reduce abortions. During a trip to Ireland, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver said merely wanting to reduce abortions as opposed to ending the practice entirely is not pro-life.

But we know Obama’s not pro-life, don’t we? Wouldn’t reducing abortions be a step in the right direction? This is news to me, I thought he was going to make abortion more available, has he had a change of heart??

No, it is just the standard cover pro-abortionists use. The claim to want to reduce abortion, but act totally the opposite.

This is a man who would support the murder of his own grandchild so as not to “ruin” his daughter’s life. He is without morals.

God Bless

It is a fraud. Using this logic you can reduce the number of muders by making all murders legal and teaching people safe ways to resolve their conflicts. How stupid.

Common sense tells you if you want to reduce the number of abortions make them illegal with stiff penalties.

Actually he referred to pregnancy as a punishment…
First of all. If he can’t interfere with a womans choice, he darn sure better not be able to determine how a woman perceives a pregnancy.

Secondly, even if it were punishment, people need to live with their choices and not be given a license to kill to escape their decisions.

“Reducing abortions” is a marketing scam which unfortunately, many Catholics have bought into. The whole reduce-the-need-for-abortion ploy is built on the faulty assumption that abortion is caused by poverty, lack of health-care or social services, etc. T’ain’t so. Abortion is caused by people having sex and not wanting children combined with a state that promotes the fiction that because it’s legal, it’s not objectively evil. That’s the cause. Now of course no candidate (Obama and his minions least of all) is going to speak out against the commodification of sex–the “try before you buy” mentality that most of society thinks it is entitled to. So as long as these faulty assumptions are in place, any plan that is based on them has a foundation in bs and should be rejected outright.

Agreed.

Reducing abortions by lifting restrictions on abortions is like reducing bank robberies by getting rid of guards, alarms, and vaults.
