Are there any free online Bible courses put together by Catholics? I can’t seem to find any.
 
I highly recommend the two listed (Salvation History and Agape)! Scott Hahn gives some good information for those who are new to bible studies. In the Agape series, Michal Hunt is able to really dig deep and bring so much of the Bible together. Her ability to bring up numerous Old Testament references to New Testament text is very enlightening.

There are a few good audio bible studies that are excellent as well. St. Ireneaus Ministries , which does mostly St. Paul’s Epistles, is very good and detailed. David Higbee gives a lot of background information which helps you to understand the culture that St. Paul was dealing with. And Tim Gray has three great series on EWTN. Just type in “Gray” under the first search box and you’ll find his series on Mark, John, and Exodus. Mr. Gray has a wonderful way of tying numerous Old Testament references into the New Testament fulfillments making the Bible come alive for those “with ears to hear”!

I’ve found that these MP3 files are great to listen to while doing my morning exercises.

I think the St. Ireneaus studies are very, very good — unfortunately, there is no written material that comes with them.

The various EWTN series are a good recommendation too – with the advantage that you can use the individual Ignatius Study Bible volumes for each of the books that is being studied. Tim Gray’s approach to the Scriptures is very close to that of his associates Scott Hahn and Curtis Mitch who authored the ISB series, so they go very well together.

Yeah, there is a small introduction to each one. But nothing in great detail. I wonder if a small donation to St. I’s will get someone the notes…

I understand that Tim just did a series on EWTN for the reading of the Psalms. This has been of particular interest in my recent studies. I’m looking forward to being able to get those.

Does anyone have any further on-line study resources?
 
This is a site I found that will give you the book and workbook for free if you cannot afford it. (I made a donation). The first book listed (We Believe …syrvey etc.) is excellent. You read the chapter, read bible passages, CCC and then you have a little workbook for each chapter. I wish I would’ve had it when I went through RCIA. I still thumb through it for reference.

I too found the Catholic Home Study Service very useful. I could do the lessons on my own time and speed, test myself, and correct any wrong answers. This was my first attemp at Bible Study on returning to the Church after many years. It whet my appetite for more and I am now leading Bible Study Courses ofr Catholic Scripture Study.

I too have the “We Believe” Bible Study. It’s a good study. I didn’t know about the other websites that have Catholic Bible Studies. Thanks for the information.
