Can anyone help me with a Catholic Bible Search
web site. I have to teach 280 kids this week at our parish’s Vacation Bible School and I’m looking for some ideas for some readings from “Acts”.

Thanks in advance

This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it works for me. You can use Bible Gateway (a non-Catholic bible search) to find a word or phrase, and then look up the passage on a Catholic bible websight.

I don’t know if I quite understand your question but Scott Hahn has an excellent Bible study program that I have used. It may be what you are looking for?

Somebody also gave a link on another thread for a Catholic web site with Catholic VBS stuff. It was something like catholickids.com ?

If your looking for subjects try these I use (They are also very Catholic!):

Why we kneel to pray:bowdown: (When/why did so many protestants stop?):

Acts 20:36 “When he {St. Paul} had finished speaking he knelt down and prayed with them all.”

Acts 20:5 “At the end of our stay we left and resumed our journey. All of them, women and children included, escorted us out of the city, and after kneeling on the beach to pray,”

Acts 22:7 “I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ 8 I replied, ‘Who are you, sir?’ And he said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazorean whom you are persecuting.’”

Acts 26:14 “We all fell to the ground and I heard a voice saying to me in Hebrew, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goad.’”

Apostolic succession:clapping: (Proves Catholic Church is Christ’s true body):

Acts 1:20-26, Acts 1:20-26, Acts 6:2-6, Acts 6:8, Acts 9:17-20, Acts 10:42, Acts 11:30,

Acts 14:23, Acts 14:26-28, Acts 15:2-3, Acts 15:6, Acts 15:7, Acts 15:22, Acts 15:23-25, Acts 15:27-28, Acts 15:40, Acts 19:22, Acts 20:1, Acts 20:24, Acts 20:28-31,Acts 21:18

I have several others like this too if this is what you were asking for? Email me.

Or subjects like St. Paul’s journey? His imprisonment? His conversion? Assurance or “HOPE” for salvation? Works and Faith or faith alone? Etc. Kids would love to have a skit on his conversion or imprisonment or journeys I bet? :yup:

Good luck!👋

So many ideas and only one summer this year!

Thank you for not warming a pew:sleep: and actually living our Faith, Bless You! I hope you inspire others to do the same.

You don’t say how much time you have to prepare and present or what age or grade levels your’re teaching, but here’s something to consider.

Probably the best thing to do since Acts is such a large book is to give a very general overview, and then hit the main points: Jesus’ ascension and his promise to send the spirit, Pentecost, Stephen’s martyrdom, Peter’s revelation about the Gentiles, Paul’s conversion, the Council of Jerusalem, Paul’s missionary journey’s, etc. With kids, I would keep it simple: just read the passages, explain as neccesary, then discuss.

A good resource to use (but not on-line) is The Ignatius Study Bible-Acts of the Apostles. It’s inexpensive, easy to find at Catholic Bookstores, has a good outline, and questions for study and personal application in the back of the book.
