So other than a poorly written and biased article, what is your problem with this? The Church has never taught that all of the Bible stories are to be taken literally. It is not a literal history book either.
We can be assured that it contains no error, but has to be read contextually. The genesis stories don’t disprove OR support scientific theories that may crop up over the centuries. We can have confidence that everything was created by God. Science is not to be feared. IF the theory of evolution was a fact, so what? God must have figured it out that way.
The Church interprets Revelation much differently than most Protestants too. No news there.
