Washington, DC – Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, considered by some to be one of the few pro-life Democrats in Congress, is defending his repeated votes for international abortion funding. He is defending his votes against the Mexico City Policy despite two rebukes from his Catholics bishop.

This is what happens when supposedly pro-life Democrats get elected. The vote along party lines and pro-abortion lines. They think that “family planning services” prevent abortions. They don’t. They increase abortion.

Casey’s spokesman Larry Smar told CNSNews that Casey’s vote can be considered pro-life because it support family planning efforts that supposedly reduce abortions.
“Currently, more than half of all unintended pregnancies end in abortion. Very simply, fewer unintended pregnancies means fewer abortions,” he claimed. “Women who are not pregnant don’t have abortions.”
“Family planning efforts” include contraception – something a Catholic politician should not be promoting.

Screwball logic like this is part of what keeps the holocaust running. We’ve got a large enough percentage of people who oppose abortion to stop it, if only they wouldn’t keep falling for tricks like these.

He does not sound very pro-life to me.
Talk is cheap. It’s hypocritical of one to talk one way, and vote another. All self described Catholic politicians who vote to support abortion, euthanasia, or embryonic stem cell research should be corrected by their Bishop, then if still refusing, should immediately be excommunicated.

so why do we call him Catholic?

👍 At the very least interdicted, but excommunication seems more appropriated. Interdiction may be a first step.

As my Irish grandmother would have said “He took the soup.”

He sided with his party instead of his church, that’s a real shame. I had been a fan of his before. I think he should be voted out of office.

The Democratic Party is the problem. They are autocratic on the abortion issue, and will brook no dissent from the “kill a baby today” doctrine.

Many of us in Pennsylvania voted for him believing that he was a strong pro-lifer and family advocate–that is how he presented himself. Recently, I have noticed that he is starting to shift to the pro-choice circuit. His father was very conservative when it came to family values and I think he would be very disappointed with this path. I hope this does not become a habit because it is awfully hard to break those…

Prayers and petitions,
