Catholic Church and Martial Arts (especially in other cultures)

Has the Catholic Church said anything about the practice of martial arts?

What have they said or done about above topic in countries like the Philippines (Kali, Escrima) and Thailand (Muay Thai).

Just wondering. đź‘Ť
 
I speak for myself, not the church.

I happily practice a very “Americanized” form of martial arts-we don’t bow to shrines, or anything else like that.

I’m very skilled at it and been doing it for awhile. Sometimes when I enter other dojos, I squirm at things that I’ve seen-but I don’t have to do it personally.

By the way-I pray all the time while doing workouts-it’s a great way to ignore the pain!🙂

It is not a problem if you detach any spiritual content which would contradict Catholic faith.
