I know you are trying really hard to do your best in these classes.
Your RCIA instructors should be presenting to YOU.
Not the other way around.
 
I like your topic a lot.
Since it is two paragraphs ,my suggestion is to do a simple research about monasticism and the preservation of knowledge.
Go to the Benedictine order,for example,explore orders and what monks did .
Their role and importance in Medieval timesā€¦
There were barbarian invasions at timesā€¦
I. believe you will find it very interesting.
Perhaps even Catholic encyclopedia online.
Maybe other posters can help with authors if you like it. I can remember Hillaire Belloc and his books but there must be others.

The ā€œGolden Legendā€ was written about various saints in the church and was written for the faithful back in the medieval times.

If you are searching for re-search outside search-engines, then I would suggest going to a library and reading a book, I tend to go to my local Catholic library (for which I am very blessed to have).

There are however good books within the Internet, I am currently reading Where we got the bible Our Debt to the Catholic Church by the Right Rev. Henry G Graham thanks to a little sharing-advice from some friends.

*Religion in the medieval West * by Bernard Hamilton. This is a very informative book that goes in depth.

The Medieval Sourcebook is a good online collection of primary sources.

If you can get to a good academic library, have a look at R. W. Southernā€™s Western Society and the Church in the Middle Ages. Iā€™ve heard that Regine Pernoudā€™s Those Terrible Middle Ages is good (the title is ironic). For a really in-depth reference source, the three-volume Cambridge Illustrated History of the Middle Ages is excellent. The Peopleā€™s History of Christianity seriesā€™ volume on the Middle Ages should also be worth looking at.

This is all probably more detail than you want. But itā€™s a very broad topic for two paragraphs.
