Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible
By Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent
THE hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church has published a teaching document instructing the faithful that some parts of the Bible are not actually true.

The Catholic bishops of England, Wales and Scotland are warning their five million worshippers, as well as any others drawn to the study of scripture, that they should not expect “total accuracy” from the Bible.

“We should not expect to find in Scripture full scientific accuracy or complete historical precision,” they say in The Gift of Scripture.

So the Catholic Church now claims the Bible not is true?

Do you realize that you’ve posted the same thread twice in this forum?

How do you twist an evaluation of the Bible for scientific accuracy into, the Catholic Church says the Bible isn’t true? We all know the Bible says the earth, not the sunm is the center of our universe? Is that scientifically accurate? No, and it’s not a refutation of the Bible to admit that.

Same with historical accuracy. There are numerous instances where writers got some basic information, names and places, wrong - or their translator did. Again, to admit that is not the same as saying the Bible is untrue. It’s unfair to twist perfectly rational conclusions as something blasphemous and that’s exactly what you’re doing here.

This looks like ananswer to something - but to what ?

***It could be better expressed, but theirs no news like old news.

Everything in the Bible is true, BUT not necessary factual!👍

For example’ The universe being Created in six days. Could be? Could be six seconds, could be six billion years. God didn’t make the Universe, He Created it, which means He made it out of nothing, which in turn means God “Willed” it into existence. So what happened is true, how it happened [CBS and FOX were late on the scene] only God knows:thumbsup: ***

I have relayed this information mutiple times in the past year:D

Love and prayers,

Pat
