I hope I can post this question. Does anyone know of a good Catholic community in Albuquerque, New Mexico? My brother and his family are part of a strong close knit catholic homeschooling community and may have to move out of state to New Mexico. It’s him, his wife and four school age children. Any information or links will help. Thanks.

My niece belongs to Holy Child parish in Tijeras, which is outside of Albuquerque. Depends on what part of town you’re going to be living.

Are they moving because of a group they belong to, or are they moving because of outside matters? (employment, job opportunities).

I ask because I know of a pseudo-catholic cult in the general area, and I don’t want to give said group free advertising. In most cases, anyway, such groups don’t require members to move. But I am concerned…

If on the east side of Albuquerque, I second Holy Child in Tijeras (http://www.holychildparishnm.org/). If on the west side, Thomas Aquinas in Rio Rancho (https://www.stanm.org/) has a good reputation. There is also a Byzantine Catholic parish in Albuquerque, Our Lady of Perpetual Help (https://www.olphnm.org/) which is a good community. Even if they don’t choose to go there regularly, I would recommend visiting Our Lady of Perpetual Help with their children at least once to provide some exposure to Eastern Catholicism.
