Hello, everyone. The other day after Mass, one of the old ladies invited me to join the Catholic Daughters of America. Around here, the group is mostly the over-65 crowd, but they seem to do a lot of good works and I’m probably going to join them after the holidays. Anyone here a member? What do you think?

Wow, I haven’t heard anything about the Catholic Daughters in ages. My mother was a member once upon a time and back then it was all older ladies too.

Hmmm, maybe I’m starting to show my age! Twice lately I have had young cashiers give me senior discounts without even asking (I’m only a little bit over 50), and now an invitation to join the CDA? I guess that’s what happens when you don’t color your hair or go for Botox… 😉

there are also Junior Catholic Daughters for middle school and high school age girls, and their is a scholarship program. here about half the members are retirement age, but there a plenty of moms who are members, and bring their daughters into Jrs.

It’s been almost 4 years since these posts and I stumbled across them searching for CDA. I saw something about them in the bulletin for my church, St. Bernard’s of Levittown NY. I was surprised seeing your post saying it’s usually women over 65 that join as I am 29 and was interested in learning more about CDA. Should I not consider joining? Any (name removed by moderator)ut?
