Hi!

I have been listening to Catholic Deliverance Power on YouTube for the past few months. I am a cradle Catholic athlete and I find it comforting to run a few miles a day and listen to these prayers at the same time.

My concern is the lack of info or background on the YouTube channel itself. I cannot seem to find anything on the channel or even the gentleman who says the prayers. Is he a priest? Can Catholics listen to these prayers?

There are some questionable videos on the channel. For example, there is a prayer called “Powerful Invocation to Seven Archangels.” I was under the impression that the Church recognizes three (3) archangels - Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael - as they are the only ones who are mentioned in the Bible.

Does anyone have any information that can help? Is it okay for me to listen to the prayers that I know are correct?

Thanks in advance, and God bless you!

The Roman Church only officially recognizes 3

The Catholic Church, which is a Communion of 24 Churches including 23 Eastern Catholic Churches plus the 1 Roman Church, recognizes 7.

In the Byzantine Rite they are named:

Michael
Gabriel
Raphael
Uriel
Selaphiel
Jehudiel
Barachiel

This means that if one is Roman Catholic, it is ok or safe to venerate the other 4 archangels, since the Byzantine Church names/recognizes them.

Well, we say there are 7 archangels, but we only name 3 is how I understand it.

Thanks for the replies! Your answers made me feel a lot better. I’m just trying my best to be a good person, and I want to make sure that I’m going in the right direction.

Honestly, there is no such thing as a “powerful prayer/invocation”.
The best praying is from the heart and it may well be wordless.
