There’s no such thing. One is in communion with the Pope, and therefore a Catholic, or one is not.
For example

Roman Catholic
Greek Orthodox

The Orthodox, including Greek Orthodox, are not in communion with the Pope.

Perhaps you mean Maronite Catholics.

These are not denominations. These are Rites in the Church. This means they have a different liturgy, perhaps speak a different language, have different traditions of music, art, etc.
We now have the Anglican Rite Catholic
There is no “Anglican Rite”. The Catholics who use the Anglican Use liturgy are Latin Rite Catholics.

I’m not sure about this one. You may very well be right, but I was under the impression that the newly ordained, formerly Anglican priests still use the Anglican “rite.”

No. There is no Anglican Rite in the Catholic Church.

Anglican Use parishes use an Anglicanized version of the Ordinary Form of the Mass. They are Latin Rite parishes. In other words, the Anglican Use variant of the Liturgy is one of the approved one in the Latin Rite, along with the OF, the EF and a few others (I think the Ambrosian is also one of these).

Let’s put it this way - when it comes to the Anglicans they are actually a spin-off of the Latin Rite, so when they come back to communion they are grafted back in where they started from. Their rites come from our Latin rites. When it comes to the Eastern Churches it’s a different story, because they were there from the start of Catholicism and we were all in communion with one another but developed in parallel. They were different “rites” to begin with, and if they were one of the Churches to leave and then reunite later in history they simply took back up their parallel communion and carried on.

The term used for the Anglican liturgy is the Anglican Use I believe. So it’s basically another liturgy according the the Roman Rite, like the case with the Ordinary and Extraordinary Forms.

Greek Orthodoxy or Eastern Orthodoxy in general is not Catholicism (as in, in communion with Rome).

Western/Latin Rite
  • Roman Catholic Church
Eastern Rite
  • Armenian Catholic Church
  • Belarusian Greek Catholic Church
  • Bulgarian Catholic Church
  • Chaldean Catholic Church
  • Coptic Catholic Church
  • Croatian Greek Catholic Church
  • Ethiopian Catholic Church
  • Georgian Catholic Church
  • Greek Catholic Church
  • Hungarian Greek Catholic Church
  • Italo-Albanian Catholic Church - a.k.a. Italo-Greek Catholic Church
  • Macedonian Catholic Church
  • Maronite Catholic Church
  • Melkite Catholic Church
  • Romanian Catholic Church
  • Russian Catholic Church
  • Ruthenian Catholic Church (usually called the “Byzantine Catholic Church” in the United States)
  • Slovak Greek Catholic Church
  • Syrian Catholic Church
  • Syro-Malabar Church
  • Syro-Malankara Catholic Church
  • Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church
And then there are the breakaways…
Then there are those who identify as Catholic but broke away from the Church
  • Apostolic Catholic Church
  • American Catholic Church in the United States
  • Bosnian Church (no longer in existence)
  • Brazilian Catholic Apostolic Church
  • Catholic Charismatic Church of Canada
  • Celtic Catholic Church
  • Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association
  • Communion of Christ the Redeemer
  • Free Catholic Church
  • Liberal Catholic Church
  • Mariavite Church
  • Old Catholic Church
  • Old Catholic Church of America
  • Old Catholic Church in Europe
  • Palmarian Catholic Church
  • Philippine Independent Church
  • Polish National Catholic Church
  • Sedevacantism
  • Spiritus Christi community
  • True Catholic Church

Wow, great news!

I just found this page.

“From these western and smaller eastern rites the encyclopedia gets 242 “Roman Catholic denominations” (year 2000 numbers). The largest is by far the Latin-rite (commonly called “Roman Catholics” by non-Catholic Christians) with 976 million members of the 994 million total members (or 98% of the total, year 1995 numbers). However, since virtually all of these western and smaller eastern rites are in union with the Pope (I am not sure of some of them), there is actually one Catholic Church, not 242 churches or denominations”

The article from CA was very good. and the list that was provided also good.
Thank you one and all for the education your never disappoint.👍

God Bless

It would be cool to to give the Anglicans the Sarum Rite (an English Rite used until the Reformation)

Yep. One needs to remember though that the Use of Sarum (Salisbury), aka the Sarum Rite, is just one of the ‘uses’ of the Roman Rite that existed in medieval pre-Reformation Britain (you have also the Uses of York, Aberdeen, Bangor and Hereford to name four), though it is arguably one of the most well-known and was the most-used.

Exactly, different denominations have different doctrines. The various Catholic Churches SUI JURIS do not have differing doctrines.

The best I can explain is summed up below

*Ultratraditionalist Catholics. Ultratraditionalist Catholics consider themselves nonrevisionist Catholics.
  • Traditionalist Catholics. The traditionalist Catholics in many ways make up the backbone of the church hierarchy.
  • Liberal Catholics. Liberal Catholics have substantially departed from traditional Catholicism, and one might say from traditional Christianity as a whole
*Charismatic/Evangelical Catholics. 1992 marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Catholic charismatic renewal movement. Emerging from humble beginnings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1967, the late 1960s and 1970s saw the Catholic charismatic renewal flourish in the church. While it experienced slow decline in the 1980s

*Cultural Catholics. The majority of Catholics in the world probably fit into the category of cultural Catholics. This group is unlike any other type we have considered above. Their identification as “Catholic” is simply more cultural and social than religious

*Popular Folk Catholics. Popular folk Catholics are found especially in Central and South America. These Catholics are very eclectic in their religious thinking and practice. They often combine elements of an animistic or nature-culture religion (the primitive religious beliefs that associate the forces of nature and culture with myriads of spirits) with a traditional medieval Catholicism.
