I am looking for a good Catholic discussion of the 5 solas. Usually, faith alone and scripture alone are pretty easy to find info about, but the others: grace alone, Christ alone, and glory to God alone, are harder to find info about.

I was having a discussion with a Baptist friend about them and realized I didn’t know enough about the Catholic positions and/or refutations of them so I am looking for some answers. My friend is a big follower of R.C. Sproul who passed recently (may God grant him peace) if that helps.

So for the other 3, is it them that disagree with us but we agree with them? I know for the glory to God alone many protestants will point to veneration of saints/Mary as taking away from glory due to God, but we don’t see it as such

And I could say that when a Protestant man gets down on one knee and proposes, he glorifies his bride and thus takes glory away from God…doesn’t make it true. All glory belongs to God, but Scripture clearly says that God chooses to glorify us in turn.

Yes, the difference is that we believe the creation of God is full of His Glory, while protestants often seem to act as though there’s some competition between creatures and God for glory.
