Anyone has views or experience in the MA for educators?
I’m a teacher, but rather late in my career. I’d like to serve the Church either in Catholic schools or more directly.
Anyone think this course would help me in this? Is the effort and expense worth it?
Thanks

CDU is a legitimate institution, but you should keep in mind that it only has national accreditation (DEAC), not regional. That may be an issue if you seek to go on for a doctorate later or if you ever want to work in a non-Catholic institution (I’m not saying that it will definitely be a problem, as some universities and most government agencies accept national accreditation, but it’s something to keep in mind). CDU is listed on the USCCB’s registry of valid Catholic colleges, so if your main ambition is to work within the Church or a Catholic educational setting then you will probably be fine.

My 2 cents:

If you really want to help the cause of Catholic Education, get a Masters in School Administration.
There are VERY FEW solid Catholic Principals. Not near enough to fill the need.
We just suffered through almost 9 years of a principal that knew little to nothing about the faith, had no experience in Administration, and let her teaching certificate lapse in the process. A school that was filled to capacity has dwindled to less then 80 kids, many of them non-Catholic.

Get an Administration degree. You can practically name your price.
